Pizza Power!

Speaking of favorite songs, I found this video of my favorite song from the TMNT Coming Out of Their Shells tour on youtube and thought I'd share it with the world. A fortnight and many years ago, when I was a younger lad, I used to daily take my jambox outside, turn the volume to 11, and sing and dance to my Turtles Tour cassette tape from Pizza Hut. When I was done doing that, I would watch both the "Making Of" and actual tour VHS's and dream about seeing the Turtles live in concert. Simply amazing...

btown's Top 10: Jay Chou Songs

I must preface this entry first by saying it was way too hard for me to narrow the following list to 5 songs, so I was forced to expand it to a Top 10 list. After watching the live action Initial D movie the other night, I figured I might as well share some of my favorite Jay Chou songs (as his are currently the most played albums on my ipod.) The selections were based on the songs themselves, but I've included links to music videos (for the songs with MV's on youtube) since many may be unfamiliar with the songs. Enjoy...or ignore...whichever suits you...

10. Fen Lie (Split) - 8 Dimensions - Jay Chou be playin' that guh...
MV on youtube

9. Ban Shou Ren (The Orcs) - 8 Dimensions - Most will recognize the video game in the music video...no idea what it has to do with the song...I suppose the name may have something to do with it...
MV on youtube

8. Piao Yi (Drifting) - November's Chopin - Song I turn up in my AE86 (featured prominently in the music video) as I cruise around the mountains of Japan...
MV on youtube

7. Ge Qian (Stranded) - Common Orange Jasmine - Such a touching song...I have no idea what it's about...
MV on youtube

6. An Jing (Silence) - Fantasy - Nice piano piece...
MV on youtube

5. Kun Shou Zhi Dou (Duel of Trapped Beasts) - Common Orange Jasmine - Hmm...no video for this one...oh well...

4. Qing Tian (Cloudless Day) - Yei Hui Mei - An easy song to play guitar to while singing along...
MV on youtube

3. Lan Se Feng Bao (Blue Storm) - November's Chopin - Set your telephone to tone and have at it...
MV on youtube

2. Huo Yuan Jia (Fearless) - Fearless - The music video for this one's pretty sweet...
MV on youtube

1. Yi Lu Xiang Bei (Always Head North) - November's Chopin - This song gots heart...makes me cry every time I hear it...
MV on youtube

There you have 'em...wow, that update was a long time coming...

btown's Top 5: Television Shows

In lieu of normal posts (which I seldomly write in the first place) I've decided to begin a series of Top 5 lists on my xanga page. Keep in mind that each list has been assembled on a whim and that I reserve the right to remember list entries that were originally neglected at later times and to claim that such entries were always a part of my list. Anywho, this first installment covers my favorite tv shows of all time:

#5 - The Andy Griffith Show - This show barely beat out The Cosby Show, Sienfeld, and The Sopranos as my favorite sitcom of all time. Don Knotts, as Barney Fife, remains one of the most hilarious actors ever to grace the small screen. I doubt I'll ever get tired of this show and will still stop to watch it any time I happen to surf past TV Land. (favorite episode: Barney and the Choir)

#4 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - This show defined my childhood. I was Michelangelo. My generation could not have asked for a more perfect set of heroes to grow up with. Although some may argue that the show was no more than another in a series of 30 minute long advertisements for children's toys that predominated 80's and early 90's television, there is no denying that this show kicked serious shell. (favorite episode: Case of the Killer Pizzas)

#3 - Family Guy - My kind of humor. Laughing makes my sides hurt. This show makes me laugh. This show makes my sides hurt. So do dining hall omelettes. (favorite episode: Death is a Bitch)

#2 - Mystery Science Theater 3000 - "Do you know what playing is, Trumpy?  Yes, it's where I rip you in half..."  "I'm BACON! Bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon..."  "A rare Godzilla-free day."  "There is no way out of here, it will be dark soon. There is no way out of here. <Crow> It'll be dark soon."  Need I say more?  "Bauwk"  (favorite episodes: Pod People, Puma Man, 'Manos' the Hands of Fate)

#1 - Farscape - The best show ever. Period. .. Why Sci-Fi ever cancelled this show is beyond a mystery to me. If you've never given this series a chance, I highly recommend getting your hands on it. Make sure to grab The Peacekeeper Wars miniseries as well, cause the ending to the regular series will make you wanna cry without it. (favorite episode: This is Farscape!!! How can I pick?!?)

Graduation was long, but it's over.  Finally back in Oconee...doing nothing and enjoying time off.  Cause when I get back to Tech, grad school's gonna be rough...just hope it's worth it...but for now I won't worry about that...I'm just gonna sit around...playing NBA Live 06 and Guitar Hero...and eating...
